Whetstone Mountains

The photos below, of Luna are of a field trip we took to the Whetstone Mountains, AZ to help a friend and colleague with her field work. Luna was a great field assistant…and quite the little helper too. She truly is a geologist’s dog! Too bad we got chased out of our campsite (late at night of course) by a wildfire that spread from the next mountain range over. So we checked into a Motel 6 in the nearest town and called the trip a success!

Scaredy cat! (those flames from the fire are getting way too big for us)

Awww mom…did we have to leave camp? I wasn’t really that scared of the forest fire…honest!, Motel 6, Douglas, AZ.
